Recently this Spring/Summer 2013 collection by McQueen caught my eye because of its interesting concept of looking at Honey, and being inspired by honeycomb to create structured textures. Relating to my melting pot project well, as i’ve been looking into creating textures from found objects such as shells and sticks.

I love the honeycomb style mesh used to create the tailored jackets and cropped trousers and think the textures stand out. The colour palette is very strong, golden browns with a splash of dark creates a warm atmosphere on stage and throughout the collection.

In particular with this collection though, I’m looking closely at the use of texture rather than the actual silhouettes of corsets and bustles .
