THE SARTORIALIST

So I’ve heard of this blog so many times, the name Sartorialist comes up all the time, but just haven’t had a look..until now! and I LOVE this street style blog, its a very inspiring blog, capturing peoples style, look, personality but it different ways! I’m right in the middle of my own street style project at the moment as I said in the last post, so am in the process of researching all kinds of blogs and getting into the swing of street style. This is definitely one of my favourites so far. The way Scott Schuman goes about his photography is very meaningful and so unique compared to others. He wants to find people who he finds inspiring and interesting, not just people who are on trend. I also really like how some of his posts/photographs are just of the person standing infront of the camera normal (like a normal average street style pose) but then some are in the moment, not looking, or just getting on with their lifes. They really capture the style on the street rather than a set up image. Here’s an inspiring video I found whilst researching..!

STREET STYLE SNAPSHOT

One of my new projects this year for second year is to complete a street style trends blog along with a research sketchbook. Haven’t actually looked into street style in a lot of depth before only a small project for foundation so am looking forward to getting into this one. I will have to find outfits/style on the street and around me that stand out in original and different ways. This one is a practice photo, just from around campus. My actual Street style blog is going to be separate from this one but here’s a sample..

With this look I really like the casual laid back style, a student from Uni so more of a work day look. The oversized white jumper sits well on the slightly baggy rolled up jean look. Which then matches the blue suede trainer. I’m not usually a fan of trainer type shoes but really like this version – they are more of a softer look and love the suede and ribbon laces! The Bobble hat is a key winter trend that comes back every year just before Christmas, this handmade knitted look adds a bit of colour to the overall look also matches the baby blue painted nail colour. I also really love the mix matched pieces of jewellery, silver rings and thin beaded bracelets complete the look.

WHEN IN ROME & FLORENCE..

This summer I visited Rome and Florence and loved it, Staying in hostels was such a good experience meeting new people & travelling around. The whole ‘backpacking’ idea is definitely something ill continue to do after uni hopefully! love visiting different places, gaining inspiration from other cultures as well. The Buildings and streets were so beautiful in both Rome and Florence. Florence was very pretty and arty, lots of galleries and cute back streets. Rome had more architectural aspects such as the Trevi Fountain and the Coliseum. Here’s a few images from my trip..definitely worth a visit!
